50 people resign from the anti-discrimination student movement in Kishoreganj at once

Kishoreganj Correspondent:
It is reported that 50 people have resigned from the anti-discrimination student movement committee in Kishoreganj at once.
These resignation letters were circulated on social media Facebook on Tuesday, creating a huge discussion.
As a result of the expulsion of the district committee’s senior joint convener Mamun Mia and organizer Riyad Ahmed Ullas, 50 people with the rank of joint convener, joint member secretary, organizer and member of the district committee have resigned.
The exact same category of writing was observed in each resignation letter. One of them wrote in her resignation letter:
“I am Sumaiya Shaon, Joint Member Secretary, Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Kishoreganj District Branch Committee. I was given the responsibility of Joint Member Secretary in the recently formed Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Kishoreganj District Branch Committee. On 03/05/25, Senior Joint Convener of the District Committee Mamun Mia and Organizer Riyad Ahmed were expelled on false charges for which no proper evidence was found. Therefore, I strongly condemn such a wrong decision of the District Committee and voluntarily resign from the post of Joint Member Secretary of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Kishoreganj District Branch.”

Earlier, on Saturday, May 3, Senior Joint Convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Kishoreganj District Committee Mamun Mia and Organizer Riyad Ahmed Ullas were permanently expelled from the organization.
On Saturday night, around 11:30 pm, district committee convener Ikram Hossain posted a notice of expulsion for the two leaders on his Facebook. The notice is signed by Ikram Hossain and member secretary Faisal Prince.

The expulsion notice states, “Based on specific allegations of activities that are against the organizational policy, ideology and discipline and based on evidence, they have been permanently expelled from all organizational activities of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Kishoreganj district branch.”

In this regard, district committee convener Ikram Hossain said that this decision has been taken due to the truth of some specific allegations.

Earlier, in a notice on April 30, the post of member secretary of the Tarail Upazila Committee Parvez Islam was suspended on charges of activities that are against the organizational policy and ideology. Ikram Hossain said that an organizational investigation is underway against him.
It is worth noting that on February 6, the 321-member Kishoreganj District Committee was approved with the signatures of the organization’s central convener Hasnat Abdullah and member secretary Arif Sohel.
